Mozart Knabenchor Wien

The MOZART BOYS CHOR VIENNA has its seat in Vienna/ Favoriten. The unmistakable trademark of the choir is the appearance of the boys in blue rococo costumes (“little Mozarts”).

The choir consists of a community of boys between 8 and 21 years. The boys live at home and come together for concerts and rehearsals. The sound that is characteristic of the MOZART BOYS CHOIR VIENNA also includes men’s voices, so the young men are able to stay with the choir, singing tenor or bass, until they reach age of 22.

The MOZART BOYS CHOIR VIENNA offer a wide repertoire of classical and contemporary music.

An important activity for our choir has always been concert tours. On one hand, they promote the sense of community among the members of the choir, on the other hand, the boys learn about other countries, mentalities, religions and thus expand their world view.

The choir was invited to give concerts in many countries, such as Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Chile, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.

The choir also has performed with famous orchestras like the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, SWR Symphonie-Orchester Baden-Baden and Freiburg and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI. Worldstars like Barbara Hendricks, Bertrand de Billy, Christian Boesch, Eric Ericson, Marcello Viotti, Sylvain Cambreling, José Cura and Daniel Harding already work together with our boys. In 2018 the Choir took part of the “Life Ball” in Vienna.

Since 1994 Mag. Peter Lang is the artistic director of MOZART BOYS CHOR VIENNA. In 2019, Mag. Peter Lang celebrates his 25th anniversary as musical director of the choir.
